Excel Crop Care Limited manufactures a wide range of internationally accepted agrochemicals, which includes insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, fumigants and rodenticides. Excel Crop Care Limited came into being in 2003 when Excel Industries, a sixty-year-old organization with a solid history and reputation of developing, manufacturing and exporting chemicals, de-merged the agro-chemical business from its other operations.

Today, Excel Crop Care’s success can be attributed to factors like relentless R&D, grass-root level understanding of the end users’ needs, competitive pricing and compliance with international quality norms. Its main unit at Bhavnagar is ISO 9002, ISO 14000 and OSHAS 18000 certified. All the other manufacturing units of Excel Crop Care Limited are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and are in the process of acquiring ISO certifications. As a one-stop solutions provider to pre harvest, post harvest and in-transit pest control, Excel has made a tremendous difference to Indian agriculture.

In an industry that’s strictly seasonal and where competition from both national and international players is stiff, Excel Crop Care has managed to create a very strong niche. In fact, Excel’s products have become indigenous options to multinational brands in India. Moreover, its products or formulations share the shelf with top brands in major parts of the world.

Excel’s sincere contribution to farming, over the years, is evident by its initiatives towards a systems approach wherein IPM (Integrated Pest Management) and ICM (Integrated Crop Management) were consistently promoted and propagated with a simplified practical understanding of these complex solutions. While IPM teaches farmers to control pests and diseases by a judicious use of chemicals and an integration of natural methods & cultural practices, ICM is a comprehensive system of modern farming technique, balancing economic production with environmental responsibility. This combination allows farmers to take advantage of increased productivity at reduced input costs.

Excel developed a special task force who work in tandem with the farmers, at grass roots level. This force, called ‘Excel and Me’, promotes a blend of modern technology and traditional farming methods with clarity and a systems approach to agriculture that is both long term and sustainable. Apart from teaching ICM and IPM practices, Excel & Me Village Agricultural Practitioners (VAPs) help farmers in the application of soil management, water management/harvesting, pest management and crop management practices.

These socially attuned practices enable Excel to build a fraternity of loyal farmer customers and also to fulfill its social obligations by giving back abundantly to Mother Nature, what she has given to the mankind.
